Fruit trees come in from the cold

In 1998, Rafael Guarga won a Rolex Award for his innovative and inexpensive method of protecting crops from frost. Since then he has continued to refine the technology, further reducing the cost to farmers.

His hard work is bearing fruit. The Selected Inverted Sink system (SIS) is winning him customers beyond his native Latin America – in both the United States and Europe.
